object of the game Don't loose! Don't be the last player with cards still to play. In essence you are trying to beat the card the previous player has laid onto the face-up pile. Ace is high. It takes 2 to 6 players (best with 3 or more).
dealing Deal the cards to each player, one at a time starting with 3 face down cards in a line, then 3 face up cards on top of the first 3. Then 3 final cards, face down (the players hand). The remainder of the cards go face down in the middle and become the draw pile. before play starts A player may change
any of their face up cards with cards from their own hand. This is the
only time in the game that this can be done. The 3 face down cards can't
be looked at until they are played
to start When everyone is ready, the dealer turns over the top card on the draw pile and starts a face-up pile for the player on their left to play. (see the diagram on the box) They in turn, play their cards onto the face-up pile and play continues in that direction until the cards dictate otherwise...
during play Each player must always have 3 or more cards in their hand. After each turn, the player must draw cards from the draw pile to take their hand back up to 3 cards. If there are too few cards in the draw pile, you draw as many as there are until it is empty. Taking turns, each player must either play a card or a set of equal cards onto the face-up pile. If a player is unable to play, they must pick up the entire face-up pile and don't get to play any other cards on that turn. The person who made them pick up then starts a new face-up pile and play continues in the direction it was going. When completing a set of four cards in a row, of the same rank, (either by playing all four cards at once or by adding to the previous play), the whole pile is discarded from play and that player starts a new face-up pile. As long as you begin your turn with cards in your hand, you are not allowed in that turn to play from the cards you have on the table.
